The inaugural edition of our Bordeaux-inspired blend is based on Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from an ancient vineyard adjacent to our cellar with complements of Merlot and Feteasca Neagra.Grapes were picked separately throughout the month of September after a perfectly balanced vintage. The destemmed fruit fermented slowly and naturally in Romanian oak and steel and was carefully blended prior to ageing in new and second-hand barrels for 15 months.
Jar Sr 2016 is ruby red and fragrant with good structure. Cabernet Sauvignon’s powerful red fruit is well balanced by plummy Merlot and spicy Feteasca Neagra. This wine will continue to develop in bottle for many years to come.
