Those of you who attended our Sips in the City event at the end of September may have met Richard Ellison, the Founder of Wanderlust Wine, who represents Aussie wine-maker Corinna Wright of Oliver’s Taranga.
Wanderlust Wine is an exciting new boutique wine merchant that supplies wine sourced from small, artisan producers around the world. Wanderlust Wine develops exclusive relationships with boutique producers enabling its customers to discover wine that’s a little bit off the beaten track, produced, whenever possible, in a sustainable way and includes biodynamic, organic and vegan wines.
Last week I was delighted to join Romanian winemaker Mara Vasilache at an exclusive wine tasting dinner at The London Capital Club. Over a delicious 3-course meal we learned about Mara’s wine-making journey whilst tasting 3 of her interesting wines.
The white (Dagon Clan ‘CLAR’) was served at room temperature (believe me, it really, really worked well with the charcuterie and cheese platter), the rosé (Dagon Clan ‘HAR’) was paired with one of the best pieces of sea bream I’ve ever tasted and, surprisingly, a red (Dagon Clan ‘JAR’) was served with the cherry (melt in the mouth pastry) tart.
